Pressed Wood Sheet Size

The resulting fibers which are much smaller than the pieces used in particleboard are pressed into a sheet with wax and bonding resin.

Plywood is made by gluing plies of veneer together at right angles. We also carry pre cut project panels that are available in different sizes that may vary by store. These project panels help eliminate waste cut costs and are easier to transport than full size panels. The product comes in 3 plies 4 plies or 5 plies the more plies in a sheet the stronger the plywood it is available in special order widths and lengths as well as standard 4 x 8 1 2m x 2 4m sheets with nominal thicknesses from 1 8 3mm to 1 1 8 28mm.

Hardwood and softwood are broken down into fibers in a machine called a defibrillator. The sheet is heated briefly to activate the resin resulting in a solid sheet of manufactured wood. Moulding comes in 8 foot to 16 foot lengths. Typical finishes include laminate veneer and paint.

Particleboard is engineered lumber that is composed of wood chips and particles pressed and bound with urea formaldehyde. No standardized grades but manufactured with void free plies and face veneers carrying a grade of b or better. Mdf is available in 49 inch by 97 inch panels between 1 2 and 3 4 inch thick precut shelving in 4 foot to 8 foot lengths various depths 3 4 inch thick finished and unfinished.
